Therapy and Coaching for Life Transitions

What Are Life Transitions

Life transitions are periods of change that can affect your sense of stability, identity, and emotional wellbeing. These might include changes in work or study, family roles, health, relationships, or your understanding of yourself.

While some transitions are expected, others arrive suddenly and can feel unsettling or overwhelming. You may notice increased anxiety, low mood, overthinking, emotional dysregulation, or difficulty adjusting to new routines and expectations.

Therapy and coaching during times of transition can help you make sense of what you are experiencing, reconnect with your values, and develop supportive strategies that feel realistic and manageable for your life.

Supporting You Through Life Transitions

Life transitions can affect your emotional wellbeing, confidence, and sense of direction. Support during these periods can help you feel more grounded and clear as you move forward.

Midlife Changes – Midlife can bring emotional, physical, and identity shifts, including menopause, changing family roles, or questions about purpose and direction. Therapy offers space to process these changes and strengthen emotional resilience.

University and Early Adulthood – Transitions into university or early adulthood often involve managing independence, relationships, and academic or work pressures. Support can help with confidence, emotional regulation, and adjustment during times of change.

ADHD and Life Transitions – Life transitions can intensify ADHD related challenges such as overwhelm, emotional reactivity, or difficulty adapting to change. Some people recognise these patterns later in life. Therapy and coaching can help you explore these experiences and develop supportive strategies.

ADHD and Life Transitions

When you discover in adulthood that you may have diagnosed or undiagnosed ADHD, it can bring up many emotions. Many people describe a sense of grief for the life they could have had with earlier understanding, alongside relief or confusion.

Life transitions can intensify ADHD related challenges such as emotional overwhelm, difficulty adjusting to change, struggles with routine, or increased self criticism. As a counsellor and ADHD coach, I can support you in exploring these experiences and developing practical and emotional strategies that support daily life.

My Approach

I offer a flexible and personalised approach, drawing on counselling, ADHD informed coaching, and focused therapeutic tools. This allows support to be shaped around your individual needs rather than fitting into a single model.

Some people benefit from talking therapy to explore emotional patterns and experiences, while others prefer practical strategies to support organisation, focus, or emotional regulation. Often, a combination of both feels most helpful, particularly during periods of change.

Alongside one to one support, I also offer structured ADHD courses designed to support emotional wellbeing, self understanding, and everyday challenges at your own pace. These can be used on their own or alongside counselling or coaching, depending on what feels right for you.
